Installation Procedure

- Install the right rear park brake cable (6) to the equalizer (8).
- Install the 4 bolts in order to retain the 4 clamps.
Tighten: Tighten the bolts to 5.4 N.m (47.79 lb in).
- If the vehicle has front-wheel drive, complete the following steps:
- If the vehicle has ABS, install the ABS harness to the right rear clamp.
- Install the fuel tank shield and the 5 bolts.
- Install the front floor center heat shield and the 2 nuts.
- Install the front floor forward heat shield and the 3 nuts.
Tighten: Tighten the nuts and the bolts to 5.5 N.m (48.68 lb in).
- Install the catalytic converter. Refer to Catalytic Converter Replacement (LV6 Engine) or Catalytic Converter Replacement (LNK Engine) in Engine Exhaust.
- Install the park brake cable and the bolt to the right rear backing plate.
Tighten: Tighten the bolt to 7.8 N.m (69.04 lb in).
- Complete the following steps in order to install the park brake cable to the right rear brake:
- If the vehicle has rear drum brakes, install the shoes and the hardware. Refer to Brake Shoe Replacement (FWD) or Brake Shoe Replacement (AWD) in Drum Brakes.
- If the vehicle has rear disc brakes, install the park brake shoes and the hardware. Refer to Park Brake Shoe Replacement .
- Inspect the park brake lever travel. Adjust as necessary. Refer to Park Brake Adjustment (Drum Brakes) or Park Brake Adjustment (Disc Brakes) .
