Installation Procedure

  1. Install the front park brake cable (9) to the equalizer (8).
  2. NOTE: Refer to Fastener Notice in Cautions and Notices.
  3. If the vehicle has front-wheel drive, complete the following steps:
    1. Install the 2 nuts and the front floor center heat shield.
    2. Install the 3 nuts and the front floor forward heat shield.

      Tighten:  Tighten the nuts to 5.5 N.m (48.68 lb in).

    3. Install the catalytic converter. Refer to Catalytic Converter Replacement (LV6 Engine) or Catalytic Converter Replacement (LNK Engine) in Engine Exhaust.
  4. Install the park brake lever (1). Refer to Park Brake Lever Assembly Replacement .
  5. Install the rear floor console. Refer to Console Replacement - Rear Floor in Instrument Panel, Gages, and Console.
