Installation Procedure

  1. Install the 3 park brake cables (6,7,9) to the equalizer (8).
  2. If the vehicle has front-wheel drive, complete the following steps:
    1. Install the front floor center heat shield and the 2 nuts.
    2. Install the front floor forward heat shield and the 3 nuts.

      Tighten:  Tighten the nuts and the bolts to 5.5 N.m (48.68 lb in).

    3. Install the catalytic converter. Refer to Catalytic Converter Replacement (LV6 Engine) or Catalytic Converter Replacement (LNK Engine) in Engine Exhaust.
  3. Inspect the park brake lever travel. Adjust as necessary. Refer to Park Brake Adjustment (Drum Brakes)  or Park Brake Adjustment (Disc Brakes) .
  4. Install the rear floor console. Refer to Console Replacement - Rear Floor in Instrument Panel, Gages, and Console.
