Park Brake Shoe Inspection

  1. Remove the park brake shoes. Refer to Park Brake Shoe Replacement .
  2. Inspect the park brake shoes for the following conditions:
    • Oil or fluid contamination
    • Cracks
    • Uneven wear

  4. Measure the thickness of the park brake shoe lining.

    Specification:  The minimum park brake shoe lining thickness is 1.0 mm (0.039 in).

  5. Fig 2: Inspecting Park Brake Shoe And Rear Brake Rotor

  6. Inspect the park brake shoe and the rear brake rotor for proper contact.
  7. Replace the park brake shoes if necessary. Refer to Park Brake Shoe Replacement .
