Park Brake Hardware Inspection (Disc Brakes)

- Visually inspect the shoe retaining springs (4,5,14) for the following conditions:
- Excessive corrosion
- Excessive stretching
- Broken hook ends
- Twisting or binding
- Missing
- Visually inspect the shoe hold down springs (9,16) for the following conditions:
- Bent
- Broken
- Missing
- Visually inspect the park brake lever (6) and the strut (7) for the following conditions:
- Bent
- Broken
- Missing
- Visually inspect the park brake shoe adjuster (10,11,15) for the following conditions:
- Excessive corrosion
- Broken
- Binding
- Missing
- Replace the park brake hardware with the park brake shoes if necessary. Refer to Park Brake Shoe Replacement .
