Installation Procedure

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2004 Pontiac Vibe. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
  1. Remove the windshield wiper arms. Refer to Wiper Arm Replacement in Wipers/Washer Systems.
  2. Raise the hood.
  3. Remove the air inlet grille panel. Refer to Air Inlet Grille Panel Replacement in Body Front End.
    4. CAUTION: Refer to Battery Disconnect Caution in Cautions and Notices.
  4. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
  5. Install the J 28467-VIBE  onto the strut attaching studs. See Special Tools and Equipment .
  6. Install the J 28467-5A Strut Tower Support Assemblies over the J 28467-33A Thread Support Nuts.
  7. Install the J 28467-53 T-bolts with 5/16 inch washers through the J 28467-5A into the J 28467-33A and hand tighten.
  8. Install the two J 28467-1A Cross Bracket Assemblies over the J 28467-3 Strut Tower Tube.
  9. Install the J 28467-3 into the J 28467-5A.
  10. Install the J 28467-10 1/2 inch x 2.5 inch quick release pin through the J 28467-5A and the J 28467-3 on one side only.
  11. Hand tighten the passenger side J 28467-1A wing nuts.
  12. Hand tighten the lift hook wing nut securely to remove all slack from the engine support fixture assembly.
