Installation Procedure

Release the ratchet pawl.
Fully depress the plunger (4).
Apply the hook (2) to the pin (3).

NOTE: Refer to Fastener Notice in Cautions and Notices.

Install the timing chain tensioner into the timing chain cover. Secure the timing chain tensioner using two bolts (1).
Tighten: Tighten the timing chain tensioner bolts to 10 N.m (89 lb in).
Rotate the engine approximately one revolution in order to release the plunger on the timing chain tensioner.

Install the spark plugs.
Tighten: Tighten the spark plugs to 28 N.m (21 lb ft).

Install the ignition coils (1, 2, 3, 4).

Position the engine cover on the engine (1).
Install the 2 engine cover plastic retainers.
Install the 2 engine cover fasteners.
Connect the negative battery cable.
Tighten: Tighten the battery cable bolt to 15 N.m (11 lb ft).
