Installation Procedure

  1. Raise the vehicle. Support the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle in General Information.
  2. Remove the right side lower engine splash shield.
  3. Properly route and install the accessory drive belt onto the drive pulleys.

  5. Use a wrench and rotate the belt tensioner clockwise.
  6. With pressure applied to the wrench, install the accessory drive belt.
  7. With the accessory drive belt installed properly, release the belt tensioner.
  8. Install the right side lower engine splash shield.
    NOTE: Refer to Fastener Notice in Cautions and Notices.
  9. Connect the negative battery cable.

    Tighten:  Tighten the battery cable bolt to 15 N.m (11 lb ft).
