Installation Procedure

  1. Apply multi-purpose grease to the new crankshaft rear oil seal lip.
  2. IMPORTANT: Tap the oil seal in until its surface is flush with the crankshaft rear oil seal retainer edge.
  3. Using a hammer, lightly tap the crankshaft rear oil seal into place.

  5. Install the flywheel. Refer to Engine Flywheel Replacement .
  6. If equipped with a manual transmission, install the clutch and pressure plate. Refer to Clutch Assembly Replacement in Clutch.
  7. Install the transaxle assembly. Refer to the following:
  8. NOTE: Refer to Fastener Notice in Cautions and Notices.
  9. Connect the negative battery cable.

    Tighten:  Tighten the battery cable bolt to 15 N.m (11 lb ft).
