Removal & Installation

  1. Before proceeding, see AIR BAG SAFETY PRECAUTIONS . Disable air bag system. See DISABLING & ACTIVATING AIR BAG SYSTEM . Disconnect negative battery cable.
  2. Remove passenger-side knee bolster. Remove end cap from passenger-side instrument panel. Remove instrument panel cluster. See INSTRUMENT PANEL CLUSTER (IPC) . Remove Data Link Connector (DLC) screws. Remove instrument panel lower trim panel. Remove screws from right and left side vent ducts.
  3. Disconnect temperature sensor electrical connector. Remove right and left vent ducts. Remove radio. Remove A/C and heater control assembly. Remove right side vent duct. Remove radio speaker.
  4. Remove left and right A-pillar mouldings. Remove instrument panel upper trim pad retaining screws. Pull upper trim pad rearward slightly. Remove upper trim pad.
  5. To install, reverse removal procedure. Tighten upper trim pad screws to specification. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS . Activate air bag system.
