Diagnostic Procedure

  1. If SIR Diagnostic System Check has been performed, go to next step. If SIR Diagnostic System Check has not been performed, go to SIR DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEM CHECK .
  2. Turn ignition on. Using scan tool, check for SIR DTC's. If DTC B0080 is retrieved as a current DTC, go to next step. If DTC B0080 is not retrieved, system is okay at this time. Go to step  4.
  3. Turn ignition off. Replace driver-side SIS. See SIDE IMPACT SENSOR (SIS)  under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION. Go to next step.
  4. Reconnect all SIR components. Using scan tool, clear all SIR DTC's. Road test vehicle, then check for DTC's. If DTC B0080 is retrieved, go to step  2. If DTC B0080 is not retrieved, system is normal. Go to SIR DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEM CHECK .
