Installation Procedure

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2004 Pontiac Vibe. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.

  1. With an assistant, install the lift gate window (2) to the lift gate hinges (8).
  2. Install the spacers (1) and the 4 nuts (3) to the rear window (2).
  3. Install the rear window packing (4) and the retainers (5) to the rear window (2).
    4. NOTE: Refer to Fastener Notice in Cautions and Notices.
  4. Install the rear window packing (6) and the rear window strut bolts (1) to the rear window retainers (5).

    Tighten:  Tighten the rear window strut bolts to 6.0 N.m (53 lb in).

  5. Install the rear lift gate window struts. Refer to Strut Replacement - Liftgate Window  .

  6. Install the rear window upper outer panel (4) to the rear window (3).
  7. Connect the rear washer hose. Refer to Hose Replacement - Rear Window - Washer Pump to Endgate .
  8. Install the 4 nuts (1) to the rear window hinges (5).
  9. Install the 4 bolts (2) to the rear window (3).
  10. Install the rear wiper motor assembly. Refer to Wiper Motor Replacement - Liftgate .
  11. Install the rear wiper arm. Refer to Wiper Arm Replacement - Rear .
  12. Install the high mount stoplamp cover. Refer to High Mounted Stop Lamp Replacement .
  13. Close the lift gate window (3).
