Removal Procedure

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2004 Pontiac Vibe. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
    CAUTION: Refer to SIR Caution in Cautions and Notices.
  1. Disable the SIR system. Refer to SIR Disabling and Enabling Zones in SIR.
  2. Remove the body hinge pillar trim panels. Refer to Trim Replacement - Hinge Pillar  .
  3. Remove all 4 side door sill trim plates. Refer to Door Sill Plate Replacement  .
  4. Remove the center pillar lower trim panels. Refer to Trim Panel Replacement - Lower Center Pillar  .
  5. Remove the front floor console. Refer to Console Replacement - Front Floor in Instrument Panel, Gages, and Console.
  6. Remove the rear floor console. Refer to Console Replacement - Rear Floor in Instrument Panel, Gages, and Console.
  7. Remove the front seats. Refer to Seat Replacement - Front Bucket in Seats.
  8. Remove the accessory AC/DC power control module. Refer to AC/DC Power Outlet Control Module Replacement in Power Outlets.
  9. Remove the compact disc player, if equipped. Refer to CD Player Replacement in Entertainment.
  10. Remove the 4 front retaining bolts from the rear seat, and reposition the rear seat.

  11. Remove the 3 plastic retainers (1) which secure the front of the floor panel carpet (6).
  12. Remove the floor carpet retainers (2) from each door opening.

  13. Remove the front seat belt (1) lower anchor bolt from each side of the vehicle.

  14. Remove the 4 plastic retainers (3) which secure the rear of the floor panel carpet (6).
  15. Remove the footrest. Refer to Foot Rest Replacement  .
  16. Remove the floor mats from the vehicle, if equipped.
  17. Remove the floor panel carpet (6) from the vehicle.
