Installation Procedure

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2004 Pontiac Vibe. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.

  1. Install the floor panel carpet (6) to the vehicle.
  2. Reposition the carpet under the body side lower rear garnish moldings.
  3. Install the foot rest. Refer to Foot Rest Replacement  .
  4. Install the 4 plastic retainers (3) which secure the rear of the floor carpet (6).

    NOTE: Refer to Fastener Notice in Cautions and Notices.
  5. Install each of the front seat belt (1) lower anchor bolts to the floor.

    Tighten:  Tighten the bolts to 42 N.m (31 lb in).

  6. Install the floor carpet retainers (2) to each door opening.
  7. Install the 3 plastic retainers (1) which secure the front of the floor panel carpet (6).
  8. Reposition the rear seat assembly and install the 4 front retaining bolts.

    Tighten:  Tighten the bolts to 18 N.m (13 lb ft).

  9. Install the compact disc player, if removed. Refer to CD Player Replacement in Entertainment.
  10. Install the accessory AC/DC power control module. Refer to AC/DC Power Outlet Control Module Replacement in Power Outlets.
  11. Install the front seats. Refer to Seat Replacement - Front Bucket in Seats.
  12. Install the rear floor console. Refer to Console Replacement - Rear Floor in Instrument Panel, Gages, and Console.
  13. Install the front floor console. Refer to Console Replacement - Front Floor in Instrument Panel, Gages, and Console.
  14. Install the center pillar lower trim panels. Refer to Trim Panel Replacement - Lower Center Pillar  .
  15. Install all 4 side door sill trim plates. Refer to Door Sill Plate Replacement  .
  16. Install the body hinge pillar trim panels. Refer to Trim Replacement - Hinge Pillar  .
  17. Install the floor mats, if equipped.
  18. Enable the SIR system. Refer to SIR Disabling and Enabling Zones in SIR.
