Removal Procedure

    CAUTION: Refer to Battery Disconnect Caution in Cautions and Notices.
  1. Disconnect the negative battery cable, then the positive battery cable from the battery.
  2. Remove the battery hold down bracket bolt and nut.
  3. Remove the battery bracket.
  4. Remove the battery and the battery tray.
  5. Disconnect the MAF connector.
  6. Disconnect the hoses from the air cleaner case assembly.
  7. Remove the air cleaner hose and cap assembly.
  8. Remove the air filter.
  9. Remove the air cleaner lower box bolts.
  10. Remove the air cleaner box.
  11. Install the engine support fixture. Refer to Engine Support Fixture in Engine Mechanical - 1.8L.
  12. Remove the transaxle left mount through bolt.
  13. Remove the bolts and the left transaxle mount.
  14. Remove the transaxle bracket bolts and bracket.
