Installation Procedure

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2004 Pontiac Vibe. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
  1. Install the shift cables by going through the inside of the vehicle.
  2. Install the shift cable retainers at the transaxle.
  3. Install the control assembly.
    4. NOTE: Refer to Fastener Notice in Cautions and Notices.
  4. Install the 4 shift control mounting bolts.

    Tighten:  Tighten the control mounting bolts to 12 N.m (106 lb in).

  5. Install the shift cable hold down bracket.
  6. Install the shift cable retainer with the end clips at the control assembly.
  7. Install the center air duct.
  8. Install the front and rear center console halves.
  9. Install the boot and the lever knob.
    10. CAUTION: Refer to Battery Disconnect Caution in Cautions and Notices.
  10. Install the negative battery cable.
