Transmission Fluid Checking Procedure

Raise and suitably support the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle in General Information.

Remove the transaxle oil level/filler plug (1) from the transaxle.
Inspect the transaxle oil level.
Ensure that the oil level is even with the bottom of the transaxle oil level/filler plug hole.
If the oil level is low, adjust the oil level accordingly by adding API GL - 4 or GL - 5 SAE 75W-90 or the equivalent.

NOTE: Refer to Fastener Notice in Cautions and Notices.

Install the transaxle oil level/filler plug into the transaxle.
Tighten: Tighten the transaxle oil level/filler plug to 39 N.m (29 lb ft).
Lower the vehicle.
