Removal Procedure

CAUTION: Refer to Battery Disconnect Caution in Cautions and Notices.

Disconnect the negative battery cable. Refer to Battery Replacement in Engine Electrical.
Remove the center instrument trim panel. Refer to Trim Panel Replacement - Instrument Panel (I/P) Center in Instrument Panel, Gages and Console.
Remove the instrument compartment. Refer to Compartment Replacement - Instrument Panel (I/P) in Instrument Panel, Gages and Console.
Remove the front floor console. Refer to Trim Plate Replacement - Front Floor Console in Instrument Panel, Gages and Console.

Push in the retaining clip, then disconnect the cable from the shifter assembly.

Using a screwdriver, disconnect the park lock cable from the bracket.

Disconnect the shift select cable from the manual selector lever.

Using a screwdriver, disconnect the shift select cable from the shift lever plate.

Disconnect the electrical connectors, then the wire harness clip.

Remove the 4 nuts, then the manual selector from the vehicle.
