Installation Procedure

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2002 Pontiac Grand Prix. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
  1. Install the A/C pressure sensor to the condenser tube.

    Important:  Coat the new O-ring with mineral base 525 viscosity refrigerant oil.

  2. Install the new O-ring onto the condenser tube. Refer to O-Ring Replacement .
  3. Install the condenser tube into place.
    NOTE: Refer to FASTENER NOTICE .
  4. Connect the evaporator inlet tube to the condenser tube.

    Tighten 

    Tighten the nut to 27 N.m (20 lb ft).

  5. Install the lower radiator air baffle. Refer to RADIATOR AIR BAFFLE AND DEFLECTOR REPLACEMENT - LOWER .
  6. Connect the A/C refrigerant pressure sensor electrical connector.
  7. Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to LIFTING & JACKING THE VEHICLE .

  8. Connect the condenser tube to the condenser.

    Tighten 

    Tighten the nut to 27 N.m (20 lb ft).

  9. Lower the vehicle.
  10. Install the accumulator tube clip.
  11. Install the vacuum brake booster. Refer to POWER BRAKE BOOSTER .
  12. Install the air cleaner assembly. Refer to the following procedures:
  13. Evacuate and recharge the A/C system. Refer to Refrigerant Recovery and Recharging .
  14. Leak test the fittings of the component using J 39400-A  .
