Removal Procedure

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2002 Pontiac Grand Prix. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
  1. Recover the refrigerant. Refer to Refrigerant Recovery and Recharging .
  2. Remove the air cleaner assembly. Refer to AIR CLEANER ASSEMBLY
  3. Remove the A/C compressor hose nut (1) from the condenser.
  4. Remove the A/C compressor hose from the condenser.

  5. Remove the A/C compressor hose nut (2) from the accumulator.
  6. Remove the A/C compressor hose from the accumulator.
  7. Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to LIFTING & JACKING THE VEHICLE .
  8. Remove the lower air deflector. Refer to RADIATOR AIR BAFFLE AND DEFLECTOR REPLACEMENT - LOWER .

  9. Remove the A/C hose nut from the A/C compressor.

    Important:  Remove and discard all of the used O-ring and sealing washers.

  10. Remove the A/C compressor hose from the A/C compressor.
