Removal Procedure

- Raise the vehicle. Refer to LIFTING AND JACKING THE VEHICLE in General Information.
- Remove the transfer case assembly. Refer to Transfer Case Assembly Replacement .
- Support the transmission with a suitable jack stand.
- Remove the transmission mount retaining nuts.
- Raise the transmission assembly just high enough to remove the transmission mount.
- Remove the transmission support mounting bolts.
- Remove the transmission support from the frame.
- Remove the transmission mount bolts.
- Remove the transmission mount.
- Lower the transmission assembly slightly to gain access to the transfer case to the transmission bolts.
- Remove the transfer case adapter mounting bolts.
- Remove the transfer case adapter.
- Remove the transfer case seal.
- Remove the transfer case gasket.
