Installation Procedure

  1. Route the upper wiring harness and boot (2) to the rear upper body (3).
  2. Pull down on left rear of headliner to route upper lift gate harness.

  3. Install the upper lift gate harness (1) with retainers (2) to the left inner quarter panel.

  4. Connect lift gate wiring harness connectors (2) to the rear body wiring harness (3).

  5. Connect the upper lift gate harness connectors (1) to the rear body harness (2).
  6. Install the left upper quarter trim panel. Refer to TRIM PANEL REPLACEMENT - REAR QUARTER UPPER in Interior Trim.

  7. Route the upper lift gate harness through the upper lift gate (1) and install boot (2).

  8. Install the lower lift gate wire harness with retainers to the lift gate.
  9. Connect the lower lift gate harness electrical connectors to the upper lift gate harness (1), (2).
  10. Connect the rear wiper relay electrical connector.
  11. Connect the rear wiper motor electrical connectors.
  12. Connect the lift gate latch electrical connectors.
  13. Connect the license plate lamp electrical connectors.
  14. Install the high mounted stop lamp. Refer to HIGH MOUNTED STOP LAMP REPLACEMENT in Lighting Systems.
  15. Install the lift gate trim panel. Refer to TRIM PANEL REPLACEMENT - LIFT GATE  in Body Rear End.
  16. Close the lift gate.
  17. Connect the battery negative cable. Refer to BATTERY NEGATIVE CABLE DISCONNECT/CONNECT PROCEDURE in Engine Electrical.
