Installation Procedure

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2003 Pontiac Vibe. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
  1. With an assistant, install the lift gate window (2) to the lift gate hinges (8).
  2. Install the spacers (1) and the 4 nuts (3) to the rear window (2).
  3. Install the rear window packings (4) and the retainers (5) to the rear window (2).
    NOTE: Refer to FASTENER NOTICE .
  4. Install the rear window packings (6) and the rear window strut bolts (1) to the rear window retainers (5).

    Tighten 

  5. Tighten the rear window strut bolts to 6.0 N.m (53 lb in).
  6. Install the rear lift gate window struts. Refer to STRUT REPLACEMENT - LIFT GATE WINDOW  .

  7. Install the rear window upper outer panel (4) to the rear window (3).
  8. Connect the rear washer hose. Refer to HOSE REPLACEMENT - REAR WINDOW - WASHER PUMP TO END GATE .
  9. Install the 4 nuts (1) to the rear window hinges (5).
  10. Install the 4 bolts (2) to the rear window (3).
  11. Install the rear wiper motor assembly. Refer to WIPER MOTOR REPLACEMENT - LIFT GATE .
  12. Install the rear wiper arm. Refer to WIPER ARM REPLACEMENT - REAR .
  13. Install the high mount stoplamp cover. Refer to HIGH MOUNTED STOP LAMP REPLACEMENT .
  14. Close the lift gate window (3).
