Removal Procedure

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2003 Pontiac Vibe. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
CAUTION: Refer to SIR CAUTION .
  1. Disable the SIR system. Refer to DISABLING & ACTIVATING AIR BAG SYSTEM in SIR.
  2. Remove the body hinge pillar trim panels. Refer to TRIM REPLACEMENT - HINGE PILLAR  .
  3. Remove all 4 side door sill trim plates. Refer to DOOR SILL PLATE REPLACEMENT  .
  4. Remove the center pillar lower trim panels. Refer to TRIM PANEL REPLACEMENT - LOWER CENTER PILLAR  .
  5. Remove the front floor console. Refer to CONSOLE REPLACEMENT - FRONT FLOOR in Instrument Panel, Gages and Console.
  6. Remove the rear floor console. Refer to CONSOLE REPLACEMENT - REAR FLOOR in Instrument Panel, Gages and Console.
  7. Remove the front seats. Refer to SEAT REPLACEMENT - FRONT BUCKET in Seats.
  8. Remove the accessory AC/DC power control module. Refer to ACCESSORY AC/DC POWER CONTROL MODULE in Wiring Systems.
  9. Remove the compact disc player, if equipped. Refer to CD PLAYER REPLACEMENT in Entertainment.
  10. Remove the rear seat assembly. Refer to SEAT REPLACEMENT - REAR in Seats.
  11. Remove the 3 plastic retainers (1) which secure the front of the floor panel carpet (6).
  12. Remove the floor carpet retainers (2) from each door opening.

  13. Remove the front seat belt (1) lower anchor bolt from each side of the vehicle.

  14. Remove the 4 plastic retainers (3) which secure the rear of the floor panel carpet (6).
  15. Remove the footrest. Refer to FOOT REST REPLACEMENT  .
  16. Remove the body side lower rear garnish moldings. Refer to GARNISH MOLDING REPLACEMENT - BODY SIDE LOWER REAR   .
  17. Remove the floor mats from the vehicle, if equipped.
  18. Remove the floor panel carpet (6) from the vehicle.
