Circuit Description

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2002 Pontiac Grand Prix. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.

Ignition switch supplies ignition voltage to Sensing and Diagnostic Module (SDM) at SDM connector terminal A1 via SIR fuse, located in fuse block behind glove box. When ignition is turned on, SDM responds by performing tests on SIR system while commanding Instrument Panel Cluster (IPC) to flash AIR BAG warning light 7 times. If no malfunctions exist in SIR system, AIR BAG warning light will then turn off.
