Installation Procedure

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2003 Pontiac Vibe. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
NOTE: Refer to FASTENER NOTICE .
  1. Install the I/P reinforcement (4) to the vehicle. Secure the reinforcement with the following fasteners:
    • The 5 bolts
    • The nuts

    Tighten 

    Tighten the instrument panel reinforcement bolts and nuts to 28 N.m (21 lb ft).

  2. Install the windshield defroster nozzle duct to the heater case assembly.
  3. Install the I/P center support braces. Refer to BRACKET REPLACEMENT - INSTRUMENT PANEL (I/P) CENTER SUPPORT  .

  4. Install the ground cable.
  5. Install the instrument panel pad lower (11) to the carrier support (4) and secure the lower pad with the bolts (12).
  6. Connect the wire harness clamps.
  7. Install the lower I/P panel. Refer to INSTRUMENT PANEL (I/P) TRIM PANEL REPLACEMENT - LOWER  .
  8. Install the upper I/P panel. Refer to TRIM PAD REPLACEMENT - INSTRUMENT PANEL (I/P) UPPER  .
