Air Bag (Inflator) Module: Removal

  1. See SERVICE PRECAUTIONS . Disable SIR system. See DISABLING & ACTIVATING AIR BAG SYSTEM .
  2. For Park Avenue air bag removal, refer to REMOVAL - DRIVER-SIDE . For all other models, loosen screws behind steering wheel using No. 30 Torx bit, until air bag module is released from steering wheel. Pull up air bag module, and then disconnect electrical connectors from rear of module. Remove module and position aside with pad facing upward
