Removal Procedure

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2003 Pontiac Vibe. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
  1. Remove the 2 engine cover fasteners.
  2. Remove the 2 engine cover plastic retainers.
  3. Remove the engine cover (1) from the engine.

  4. Remove the ignition coils (1, 2, 3, 4).

  5. Disconnect the following components from the cylinder head cover:
    • The hose clamps
    • The two positive crankcase ventilation (PCV) hoses
  6. Remove the following components from the cylinder head:
    • The nine bolts
    • The two nuts
    • The two seal washers
    • The cylinder head cover (1), with the gasket
