Installation Procedure

NOTE: Refer to FASTENER NOTICE .
  1. Install the pipe fitting (2) and the gear inlet hose (4) to the pump.

    1. Tighten 
    2. Tighten the pipe fitting to 44 N.m (32.5 lb ft).
  2. Install the bolt (3).
    1. Tighten 
    2. Tighten the bolt to 7.8 N.m (69.04 Ib. in).
  3. Install the pipe fitting (6) and the gear inlet hose to the steering gear (7).
    1. Tighten 
    2. Tighten the pipe fitting to 25 N.m (18.4 lb ft).
  4. Install the bolt (5) in order to retain the hose to the steering gear.
    1. Tighten 
    2. Tighten the bolt to 7.8 N.m (69.04 Ib. in).
    NOTE: When adding fluid or making a complete fluid change, always use the proper power steering fluid. Failure to use the proper fluid will cause hose and seal damage and fluid leaks.
  5. Fill the power steering fluid reservoir. Refer to CHECKING AND ADDING POWER STEERING FLUID  .
  6. Bleed the power steering system. Refer to BLEEDING THE POWER STEERING SYSTEM  .
