Installation Procedure

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2003 Pontiac Vibe. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
  1. Install new O-rings lubricated with 525 viscosity mineral oil.
  2. Position the compressor hose assembly into the vehicle.
  3. Install the suction line (3) to the evaporator tube.

    NOTE: Refer to FASTENER NOTICE .
  4. Install the hose brackets to the vehicle. Secure with the 2 nuts (2).

    Tighten 

    Tighten the nuts (2) to 10 N.m (89 lb in).

  5. Install the compressor hose assembly to the compressor (6). Secure with the bolt (7).

    Tighten 

    Tighten the compressor hose assembly bolt (7) to 25 N.m (18 lb ft).

  6. Install the condenser inlet tube (12) to the condenser. Secure with the bolt (11).

    Tighten 

    Tighten the bolt (11) to 5.4 N.m (48 lb in).

  7. Evacuate and recharge the refrigerant system. Refer to REFRIGERANT RECOVERY AND RECHARGING  .
  8. Operate the A/C system and test for refrigerant leaks. Refer to LEAK TESTING  .
