Valve Rocker Arm and Push Rod Installation

Important:  When the rocker arms are installed, lubricate the pivot bearings valve tips, and push rod sockets of the rocker arms with engine assembly prelube GM P/N United States 1052367, GM P/N Canada 992869.

  1. Lubricate the rocker arms pivot bearings valve tips and push rod sockets with GM P/N United States 1052367, GM P/N Canada 992869, or equivalent.
  2. Install the pushrods. Ensure that the pushrods seat in the lifters.

  3. Install the rocker arms.
    NOTE: Refer to FASTENER NOTICE .

    Important:  Do not over tighten the rocker arm bolts.

  4. Ensure that the locating tab on the rocker pivot is properly aligned with the notch in the cylinder head.

    Tighten 

    Tighten the rocker arm bolts to 25 N.m (19 lb ft).
