Removal (Quick-Connect Fittings)

  1. Release fuel system pressure. See FUEL SYSTEM PRESSURE RELEASE  . Grasp both ends of one fuel line connection and twist 1/4 turn in each direction to loosen any dirt in the quick-connect fitting.
    2. WARNING: Wear safety glasses when using compressed air, as flying dirt particles may cause eye injury.
  2. Blow any dirt out of the fitting, using compressed air. Squeeze the plastic release tabs for nylon fitting, use Fuel Line Disconnect Set (J37088A) for stainless steel fittings or use Fuel Line Separator (SA9805E) for EVAP purge lines. Pull the connection apart.
