Removal Procedure

  1. Open the rear compartment.
  2. Place the protective coverings over the adjacent body panels.
  3. Use a grease pencil to mark the hinge to the rear compartment lid for the location at installation.
  4. Disconnect all electrical connectors from the rear compartment lid harness.
  5. Remove the rubber height adjustment bumpers.
  6. Remove the rear compartment lid latch. Refer to LATCH REPLACEMENT - REAR COMPARTMENT LID  .
  7. Remove the rear spoiler, if equipped. Refer to SPOILER REPLACEMENT - REAR (WITHOUT RPO B4U SPECIAL EDITION)  or SPOILER REPLACEMENT - REAR (WITH RPO B4U SPECIAL EDITION)  .
  8. Remove the nuts from the rear compartment lid hinges, with an assistant.

  9. Remove the rear compartment lid with an assistant.
