Removal Procedure

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2003 Pontiac Grand Prix. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
  1. Open the hood.
  2. Block the hood latch to prevent the hood locking until the hood release cable has been installed.
  3. Mark the hood latch to the hood latch support bracket with a grease pencil.
  4. Remove the bolts from the hood latch.
  5. Remove the hood latch from the hood latch support.

    IMPORTANT: Do not crimp the hood latch release cable.
  6. Disconnect the hood latch release cable from the hood latch by squeezing the cable retainer and position aside.
  7. Remove the hood latch from the vehicle.
