Removal Procedure

NOTE:
  1. Raise and suitably support the vehicle. Refer to JACKING AND LIFTING in General Information.
  2. Remove the tire and wheel assembly. Refer to TIRE AND WHEEL REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION in Tires and Wheels.
  3. Pull back the rear compartment trim panel. Refer to COMPARTMENT TRIM PANEL REPLACEMENT - REAR in Body Rear End.
  4. Remove the bolts from the rear bumper fascia.

  5. Remove the nuts from the rear bumper fascia.
  6. Remove the push-in retainers from the splash shield.
  7. Remove the license lamp. Refer to LICENSE LAMP REPLACEMENT in Lighting Systems.
  8. Remove the push-in retainers from the rear bumper fascia using J 38778.
  9. Remove the rear push-in retainers from the rear bumper fascia to the rear end panel using J 38778.
  10. Remove the rear bumper fascia from the vehicle.
