Installation Procedure

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2003 Pontiac Grand Prix. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
  1. Align the rear bumper fascia to the vehicle.
  2. Install the push-in retainers to the rear bumper fascia at the rear end panel.
  3. Install the push-in retainers to the rear bumper fascia at the rear bumper impact bar.
    NOTE: Refer to FASTENER NOTICE in Cautions and Notices.
  4. Install the rear quarter panel to rear bumper fascia bolts.

    Tighten 

    Tighten the rear quarter panel to rear bumper fascia bolts to 5 N.m (44 lb in).

  5. Install the rear end panel to rear bumper fascia nuts.

    Tighten 

    Tighten the rear end panel to rear bumper fascia nuts to 5 N.m (44 lb in).

  6. Install the license lamp. Refer to LICENSE LAMP REPLACEMENT in Lighting Systems.
  7. Install the push-in retainers to the rear bumper fascia at the splash shield.
  8. Install the rear compartment trim panels. Refer to COMPARTMENT TRIM PANEL REPLACEMENT - REAR in Body Rear End.
  9. Install the tire and wheel assembly. Refer to TIRE AND WHEEL REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION in Tires and Wheels.
  10. Lower the vehicle.
  11. Remove the protective tape that may have been applied during the removal procedure.
