Installation Procedure

  1. Install the I/P trim pad to the vehicle.
  2. Reposition the I/P wiring harness.
    NOTE: Refer to FASTENER NOTICE in Cautions and Notices.
  3. Install the I/P upper trim pad bolts.

    Tighten 

    Tighten the bolts to 5 N.m (44 lb in).

  4. Install the I/P cluster pocket bolt (1).

    Tighten 

    Tighten the bolt to 5 N.m (44 lb in).

  5. Install the I/P lower bolts (1).

    Tighten 

    Tighten the I/P lower bolts to 2 N.m (18 lb in).

  6. Install the I/P compartment lamp switch. Refer to INSTRUMENT PANEL (I/P) COMPARTMENT LAMP SWITCH REPLACEMENT in Lighting Systems.
  7. Install the I/P compartment lamp. Refer to INSTRUMENT PANEL (I/P) COMPARTMENT LAMP BULB REPLACEMENT in Lighting Systems.
  8. Install the I/P compartment. Refer to COMPARTMENT REPLACEMENT - INSTRUMENT PANEL (I/P)  .
  9. Install the driver information center. Refer to DRIVER INFORMATION CENTER MODULE REPLACEMENT  .

  10. Install the HUD module, if equipped. Refer to HEAD UP DISPLAY MODULE REPLACEMENT  .
  11. Install the HUD dimmer switch, if equipped. Refer to HEAD UP DISPLAY SWITCH REPLACEMENT  .
  12. Install the headlamp switch. Refer to HEADLAMP SWITCH REPLACEMENT in Lighting Systems.
  13. Install the I/P cluster. Refer to INSTRUMENT PANEL CLUSTER (IPC) REPLACEMENT  .
  14. Install the HVAC control module. Refer to HVAC CONTROL ASSEMBLY REPLACEMENT in HVAC Systems - Manual.
  15. Install the radio. Refer to RADIO REPLACEMENT in Entertainment.
  16. Install the I/P cluster trim plate. Refer to TRIM PANEL REPLACEMENT - INSTRUMENT PANEL (I/P) CLUSTER  .
  17. Install the steering column. Refer to STEERING COLUMN REPLACEMENT in Steering Wheel and Column - Tilt.
  18. Install the knee bolster. Refer to KNEE BOLSTER REPLACEMENT  .
  19. Install the steering column filler. Refer to STEERING COLUMN FILLER REPLACEMENT  .
  20. Install the front floor console, if equipped. Refer to CONSOLE REPLACEMENT - FRONT FLOOR  .
  21. Install the I/P upper trim panel. Refer to TRIM PANEL REPLACEMENT - INSTRUMENT PANEL (I/P) UPPER  .
  22. Install the side upper garnish moldings. Refer to GARNISH MOLDING REPLACEMENT - WINDSHIELD PILLAR in Interior Trim.
  23. Install the carpet retainers. Refer to CARPET RETAINER REPLACEMENT - FRONT in Interior Trim.
  24. Install the I/P insulators. Refer to CLOSEOUT/INSULATOR PANEL REPLACEMENT - RIGHT  and CLOSEOUT/INSULATOR PANEL REPLACEMENT - LEFT  .
  25. Enable the SIR system. Refer to DISABLING & ACTIVATING AIR BAG SYSTEM and DISABLING & ACTIVATING AIR BAG SYSTEM in SIR.
  26. Connect the battery ground negative cable. Refer to BATTERY NEGATIVE CABLE DISCONNECT/CONNECT PROCEDURE in Engine Electrical.
