Replacement (California)

  1. Disconnect negative battery cables. On vans, remove engine cover. See ENGINE COVER . On all models, remove the upper intake manifold cover by loosening the mounting bolts. Release all three wiring harness connectors at the glow plug relay. Remove the glow plug battery feed nut and wire. Remove the relay mounting bolt. Remove the glow plug relay.
  2. To install, reverse removal procedure. Tighten fasteners properly. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS . Ensure that the PCM electrical harness is properly routed to avoid contact with the engine cover during installation.
