Powertrain Control Module: Installation

WARNING: This page does not describe the selected car, but rather 8 other vehicles, including the 2002 GMC Savana Special, 2002 GMC Savana Camper Special, 2002 GMC Savana, 2002 GMC C3500 HD, and 2002 Chevrolet RV Cutaway. Install PCM into vehicle. Connect harness connectors to PCM. On vans, ensure that the PCM electrical harness is properly routed to avoid contact with the engine cover during installation. Reconnect negative battery cables. If new PCM has been installed, PCM MUST be programmed. The MIL, the antilock and the brake lamps will continue to be enabled until the PCM is programmed. Once the programming is complete, the lamps will be turned OFF and normal operation will occur.
