Removal & Installation

  1. Disconnect negative battery cables. On vans, remove the engine cover. See ENGINE COVER . On all models, remove the turbocharger heat shield mounting bolts. Remove the turbocharger heat shield. Remove the vacuum line to the wastegate actuator. Remove the wastegate actuator mounting bolt under the right side of the turbocharger. Remove the wastegate actuator.
  2. To install, reverse removal procedure. Tighten fasteners properly. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS . Start the engine and check the operation of the wastegate actuator.
