Installation Procedure

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2003 Pontiac Grand Prix. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
  1. Coat the ends of the pushrods with prelube GM P/N 1052367 (Canadian P/N 992869) or the equivalent.

    Important:  The intake pushrods measure 144 mm (5.68 in) long.

    The exhaust pushrods measure 152.5 mm (6.0 in) long.

  2. Install the pushrods and the rocker arms to their original location.
    NOTE: Refer to FASTENER NOTICE in Cautions and Notices.
  3. Install the new valve rocker arm bolts.

    Tighten 

    1. 3.1. Tighten the bolts to 19 N.m (14 lb ft).
    2. 3.2. Use the J 36660-A  rotate the bolts an additional 30 degrees.
  4. Install the left or the right valve rocker arm covers. Refer to VALVE ROCKER ARM COVER REPLACEMENT - LEFT  or VALVE ROCKER ARM COVER REPLACEMENT - RIGHT  .
