Installation Procedure

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2003 Pontiac Grand Prix. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
  1. Clean the oil level indicator tube.
  2. Apply sealant around the oil level indicator tube 12.7 mm (0.50 in) below the bead. Use GM sealant P/N 12345493 (Canadian P/N 10953488) or the equivalent.
  3. Install the oil level indicator tube into the engine block.
    NOTE: Refer to FASTENER NOTICE in Cautions and Notices.
  4. Install the oil level indicator tube bracket bolt.

    Tighten 

    Tighten the bolt to 25 N.m (18 lb ft).

  5. Install the oil level indicator.
  6. Connect the spark plug wire to the number 6 cylinder spark plug.
