Removal & Installation

Knock Sensor (KS) is located on side of engine block. See Fig 1-Fig 3 . Disconnect negative battery cable. On 4.3L, remove distributor. See DISTRIBUTOR . Disconnect wiring harness connector from KS. Remove KS. Coat sensor threads with sealant prior to installation. To install, reverse removal procedure. Tighten KS to specification. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS .
