Removal & Installation

  1. Disconnect the negative battery cable. Relieve the fuel system pressure. See FUEL SYSTEM PRESSURE RELEASE . Drain the fuel tank. Remove the fuel tank. See FUEL TANK .
  2. Remove the fuel sender assembly. See FUEL SENDER ASSEMBLY . Disconnect the fuel pump electrical connector. Remove the electrical connector retaining clip from the fuel level sensor. Disconnect the electrical connector from the fuel level sensor under the fuel sender cover. Remove the retaining clip from the fuel level sensor. Squeeze the locking tangs and remove the fuel level sensor.
  3. To install, reverse removal procedure. Turn ON the ignition for 2 seconds. Turn OFF the ignition for 10 seconds. Turn ON the ignition. Inspect for fuel leaks.
