Pump Removal & Installation

  1. Remove brace attached to the fender and cowl. Disconnect electrical connector from the Secondary Air Injection (AIR) pump. Disconnect electrical connector from the solenoid valve. Disconnect electrical connector from the relay. Remove hose clamp and hose from the shut-off valve. Remove vacuum line from the solenoid valve.
  2. Remove assembly hold-down bolt and the block. Remove the AIR pump assembly. Release the rubber mounting posts from the AIR pump. Remove hoses from the AIR pump. Remove AIR pump.
  3. Install AIR pump onto the rubber mounting posts. Connect hoses to the AIR pump. Install AIR pump assembly into the vehicle. Install the assembly hold-down block and the bolt.
  4. Install mounting bolt. Connect hose to the shut-off valve. Connect hose clamp to the shut-off valve hose. Connect electrical connector to the AIR pump. Connect electrical connector to the solenoid valve.
  5. Connect electrical connector to the relay. Connect vacuum line to the solenoid valve. Install brace to the fender and cowl. Check the system for proper operation.
