Removal & Installation

Release fuel pressure. See FUEL SYSTEM PRESSURE RELEASE . Disconnect the negative battery cable. Remove the engine cover. See ENGINE COVER . Disconnect the fuel line at the Low Pressure Regulator (LPR) fitting. Disconnect the LPL connector. Remove the spring clamp from the fuel outlet hose at the LPR fitting.
Disconnect the idle control solenoid hose. Disconnect the fuel control solenoid hose. Disconnect the LPR reference hose. Remove the mounting bolts. Remove the LPR from the vehicle. Remove the low pressure lock-off solenoid and bracket from the LPR if necessary. See LOW PRESSURE LOCK-OFF . Remove the LPR bracket nuts if bracket removal is necessary.
Install the LPR bracket onto the intake manifold studs if necessary. Install the LPR bracket nuts. Tighten the nuts. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS . Install the low pressure lock-off solenoid and bracket to the LPR if necessary. Place the LPR onto the engine bracket. Install the mounting bolts. Tighten the mounting bolts. Connect the LPR reference hose. Connect the fuel control solenoid hose. Connect the idle control solenoid hose. Install the spring clamp to the fuel outlet hose at the LPR fitting.
Connect the fuel line at the LPL fitting. Tighten the fuel line fitting. Connect the LPL connector. Connect the negative battery cable. Prime the CNG fuel system by cycling the ignition ON and OFF several times. Start the engine and use Ultrasonic Leak Detector (J 41416) in order to inspect for CNG fuel system leaks at each serviced fitting. Inspect for proper coolant level and fill as necessary.
