Removal & Installation

  1. Relieve the CNG fuel system pressure. Release fuel pressure. See FUEL SYSTEM PRESSURE RELEASE  . Disconnect the negative battery cable. Remove the fill line fitting from the fill valve. Remove the fill valve cover from the mounting cup. Remove the fill valve jam nut. Remove the fill valve from the mounting cup.
  2. Install the fill valve into the mounting cup. Install the fill valve jam nut. Tighten the nut. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS  . In order to prevent Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) fuel leaks, always replace the CNG fuel system "O" rings during service.
  3. Lubricate "O" ring with petroleum jelly or equivalent before installation. Install the fill line fitting to the fill valve using a NEW "O" ring. Tighten the fill line fitting. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS  . Install the fill valve cover to the mounting cup. Connect the negative battery cable. Prime the CNG fuel system by cycling the ignition ON and OFF several times. Start the engine and use Ultrasonic Leak Detector (J 41416) in order to inspect for CNG fuel system leaks at each serviced fitting.
