Removal & Installation

  1. Release fuel pressure. See FUEL SYSTEM PRESSURE RELEASE  . Disconnect the negative battery cable. Remove the fuel tank shield. See FUEL TANK SHIELD  . Remove the check valve clamp bolt. Remove the fill line at the high pressure lock-off fitting. Disconnect the fill line at the fill valve fitting. Remove the fill line assembly from the vehicle.
  2. To install, place the fill line assembly between the rear tank high pressure lock-off and the fill valve. Install the fill line fitting to the fill valve using a NEW "O" ring. Lubricate "O" ring with petroleum jelly or equivalent before installation. Tighten the fill line fitting. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS  . Install the fill line at rear tank high pressure lock-off fitting using a new "O" ring. Install the check valve clamp bolt. Tighten the bolt. Tighten the fill line fitting. Connect the negative battery cable. Prime the CNG fuel system by cycling the ignition ON and OFF several times. Start the engine and use Ultrasonic Leak Detector (J 41416) in order to inspect for CNG fuel system leaks at each serviced fitting. Install the fuel tank shield. See FUEL TANK SHIELD  .
