Removal Procedure

  1. Disconnect the negative battery cable. Refer to BATTERY NEGATIVE CABLE DISCONNECT/CONNECT PROCEDURE .
  2. Remove the left and the right engine mount struts. Refer to ENGINE MOUNT STRUT REPLACEMENT for 3.1L or ENGINE MOUNT STRUT REPLACEMENT - LEFT and ENGINE MOUNT STRUT REPLACEMENT - RIGHT for 3.8L.
  3. Remove the air cleaner assembly. Refer to AIR CLEANER ASSEMBLY .
  4. Disconnect the engine cooling fan electrical connector.

  5. Disconnect the wiring harness from the left side fan shroud clip and reposition the wiring harness aside.
  6. Remove the transmission oil cooler lines from the fan shroud clip and reposition the oil cooler lines aside.
  7. Remove the cooling fan shroud bolts.
  8. Remove the cooling fans.
