Removal & Installation

The ECT sensor is located on thermostat housing. See Fig 1. Turn ignition off. Drain the cooling system to below the ECT sensor. Disconnect the ECT sensor electrical connector. Carefully remove the ECT sensor. If you are reinstalling the original sensor, or if you are installing a new sensor without a sealer, coat the threads with Sealer (9985253) or an equivalent. Install the ECT sensor. Tighten the ECT sensor to specification. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS . To complete installation, reverse removal procedure. Refill the engine cooling system. See COOLING SYSTEM BLEEDING under COOLING SYSTEM.
